Islands - Jersey and the Isle of Skye

When visiting friends in Jersey I was asked to have an exhibition over there, which would include paintings of the island. I spent several weeks gathering images for the show, where all the Jersey paintings were sold at the Private View.  I particularly like the area around Corbiere, with its light house at the end of the peninsula.

I have been to the Isle of Skye, several times, and as with the West Coast of Ireland, the weather is a major factor. I have been there when the mist is so dense, you can see nothing, but when it lifts, the landscape is magnificent with mountains sweeping down to the lochs and lone cottages at the water’s edge. I spent much time in the craggy Cuillin Mountains, but also explored the sandy beaches where rivulets meander to the sea.
